By reboot I mean they stop supporting current Destiny outside servers and updates. And for the franchise they kick current Destiny out and make the games what they were supposed to be like. So in this the first Destiny game in the reboot would be what the concept images were showing. To me this would be their best choice. Sure they would piss a lot of people off but I think it would be worth it. By rebooting the franchise they would gain a lot more fans and buyers. If Destiny stays the way it is now there's not going to be the amount of people buying the 2nd game as what did with the first. The only ones that would be buying it would be fanboys in denial and uniformed people. With the reboot they would most likely keep most of their current fanbase and add onto it with new people.

It really doesn't matter to them, as long as the game rakes in the cash.

They'd be better off dumping Destiny, firing half the staff, and rebooting Marathon.

Rebooting Marathon without Greg Kirkpatrick behind the story and with Bungie's new team of writers is kind of like tasking a toddler with lifting Thor's Hammer.

I ended up posting it before I could do the OP. So I changed the title to let people know the thread wasn't ready yet. When I was doing the OP that's when it got locked.

The problem with making Destiny 2 good is that the first game is such shit. The first game has hardly a story so with the 2nd game they would either have to cram it all in that game or continue with what's not there. Even if the 2nd game is good the damage has already been done by the first game. Whatever they were hopping to do with it is not going to happen. There still is time to change that.

I think they just need to reword the story for Destiny 2. To really erase all the crap in the first game.
Don't remove what we've done, but don't let us accomplish all the cool stuff in the first game. Because its so lackluster.

This. It's not like they can't learn from their mistakes with the first game. Plus with the later expansions coming out they can easily expand the story.

For Destiny 2, I just want to see them fix what they promised to deliver in the first round. No sense in redoing the whole thing.

release house of wolves for free and give the first dlc out for free as well to anyone who hasnt bought it. introduce custom games in the vein of halo, completely customizable so that we could optimize for balanced competitive multiplayer. easy two step process leads to the development of an extremely good fps esport title with a massive community. theyll make up their "losses" within a year.

They should dump Destiny and focus the whole studio on rebooting Marathon but they won't, Activision are invested in the franchise now. Although, surely it would be possible to sell the IP to Activision, it'd be win-win

Give us Destiny 2. Have large open world maps, the ability to fly from one planet to another, a decent story and get another voice actor for the flying cube thing.

It's not like they have to worry about retcons or anything, since there's literally zero story to overwrite.
