Because these are things that make sense in an open world game that gives you player choice? You can kill pretty much anybody in this game. Why would they prohibit you just because it's a woman or beggar? They're not actively encouraging it and you get punished for doing it so I don't see how you can put that on the developers. Also that pedo thing was clearly a moral choice. They're not encouraging the player to leave the kid and you can clearly tell the right thing to do is to free the kid. Just because some bad choices exist in the game doesn't mean the developers condone them. It's all about player choice. Imagine a game where the only thing you're allowed to do is pet kittens and feed the homeless.
There’s no reason for this heinous shit to be in games.
valve didn't want child-killing in half-life 2, so the lack of children was woven into the plot, so it's not like there are no creative solutions to these problems
