I understand why they're not in 4K, that will most likely be a next gen thing. But why not 2K? Its crystal clear and way better in general. In fact someone uploaded Halo 2 cutscenes in 2K, here's the Gravemind cutscene:

Make sure its at 1440p and you'll know what I mean.

Probably because of hardware limitations, and I assume companies love to sell you the biggest most powerful expensive useless thing over something that is cheaper and a tad more useful.


About the video, it looks nice, but even minimized it lags terribly. To watch a video like that I'd need a more dedicated computer.

Because hardware isn't some magical thing.
The resolution is hindered by what the hardware is capable of, and the new-gen isn't even that powerful.

In time we will get a  powerful hardware, in time we will, i can already feel it happening.

Why aren't games in 4K?

Games are in whatever resolution you want, providing you have the hardware to back it up. It's just some textures wouldn't look that nice.
