I feel like Halo 2 is probably easier solo, since co-op works the way it does now with Iron on. In solo, you can just worry about speedrunning and not your friend getting killed by jackals.

God, I can't imagine Halo 2 on Legendary.

It was frustrating enough killing brutes on Heroic.

Halo 2 Solo Legendary isn't too bad. Look up legendary speedruns first, and see if there are any parts you can skip easily (ex: you can skip half of Outskirts with some simple crouch jumps and beat Uprising in 3 mins using a glitch). Naked Eli has a series on YouTube that's pretty good.
