Due to hardware I'm hoping Halo 4 looks like that and the levels are far far more open than the liner shit we have.

Halo 3:ODST fixed Bungie's original shitty version of New Mombasa, but you are right. If H2 had done the same as Halo Reach in terms of sheer destruction and exposing you to it then it would have been perfect. That elevator scene from Reach sticks in my mind strongly to this day

Although, it still had plenty of action, but it was just a kind of battle for a city that you already know is lost type; makes some sense because if the flashback action sequences were apocalyptic with the city being melted, then it would be kinda hard for The Rookie to have been alive.Reach, however, really did stress the oncoming "end of world" theme. It was a gradual start with not much destruction at all as the Covenant's invasion was slow and secretive to begin with. Although it took until the end of LNoS for things to really take off, which unfortunately is half-way through the game, from that point on we see a lot of destruction with the planet burning and seeing New Alexandria get reduced to glass. Really, just like with all of Halo: Reach, it could've been a lot better; witnessing the cities and UNSC fortresses fall should've been in much more of the game, as really you're only seeing non-Military struggle and die in 2 missions, and out of those 2 only in 1 do you outright help civilians.
