What game should I get?

So my auntie gave me some money for the Easter holidays, so basically I need a decent game on either Steam or Origin to buy.

I have a ridiculous amount of games on my Steam wishlist, but the top contenders so far are Oblivion and Rage. Other recommendations are, of course, welcome.

There's this game called Undertale that's all the rage. Probably not your thing, but it has an interesting gimmick.

Why not something a little newer?

I've been replaying Dark Souls lately, so I'd recommend that just because it's on my mind and it's a solid game that has aged well. Oblivion's pretty great, though. It aged terribly.

oblivion's combat has aged very poorly as well. if you can get past that the story is still passable and the game does handle its art direction well and boasts excellent atmosphere.

Rayman Legends is incredibly fun, family friendly and beautiful to look at. It plays smoothly and supports up to 4-player local coop. Can be played every now and then or for hours on end. Hope you don't mind U-play though. You'll get a wonderful Jump'n'Run.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. A fun singleplayer ego-shooter with a wild west theme. It does quite alot with it's setting, and has surpisingly many gimmick's and gameplay elements that mix up the gameplay. Duels and intense gunfights with varying settings are abundant. It also features a scoreattack mode, which reminded me of classic arcade shooters. Only game I truly enjoyed doing all achievements for.

Now IMO.

Dark Souls 1, 2 or 3. Any of them honestly. While DS1 will always be my favorite I cannot deny that 2 is still great and 3...well, test it out.

I agree about the graphics; when they came out they were revolutionary, and I can still appreciate that. Combat was also a step up from Morrowind, but it's still feels weird compared to modern games. It feels like you're slashing at nothing. Though it was at the forefront of fast travel and helped set the stage for modern sandbox games, so that will feel familiar.

Titanfall he doesn't have to worry because the DLC is all free now.

Yeah, so in Titanfall you're kinda a dumbass if you don't have em.

In Civ 5 you'll be limiting yourself greatly.

Every time there's a steam sale you can get Civ V with all DLC for something like £9, so I wouldn't buy it right now unless there is a sale on.

"Hasn't aged well" isnt the word i'd use to describe it. It's not like comming back to the game after playing the newer iterations caused us to see all these problems that we didn't before. Life framerate for instance was always considered to be a problem. We didn't need to see Next-Gen™ graphics to realize that much.

Need I remind you guys that when walking in the world of Oblivion, it would stop you every so often and go "loading", along with combat music playing when an enemy is 30 feet away and keep playing forever. Frames also got really bad.
