What are shadows?

It might be a bit odd but at least on my computer shadows are one of the biggest FPS killers in games, so if I turn them off I can play it with better graphics (In general) and framerates. I can kind of understand why they decided to tone them down/remove a lot of them even if it does look a bit weird.

There are normal shadows in the up close areas though aren't there?

It's one of many odd decisions in the console port. The shadow draw distance is set to low. I know the consoles are underpowered, but fucking hell. They could push medium draw distance at the very least, with low shadow quality.

Shadows are things that make the deadly if you are able to manipulate them. For example I can manipulate a part of my shadow to grab someones leg and pull them down to my realm of oblivion ,or I could use my shadow as a deadly blade.I can also use shadows to make myself invisible and I can move with the shadows.I can also make peoples insane.
