You can actually skip right to the top of the pyramid from the skybridge that the banshee is on if you can kill the elite that runs to it before he can get it.I honestly don't remember the last time I've gone through that last descent of grey circular bullshit.
Can you shoot the pilot down before you destroy the banshee itself?

Chances are, you're going to get lost. This mission does that the first time.Also, the devs got pretty lazy because everything after The Library is copypasta of te terrain from other levels. But you play it backwards!
It's easy to go in circles on 343GS.I remember the level giving me chills as a kid, though.
