I hope this system doesn't require you to download the game before you play it, I have an interest in getting one. Due to the system using cartridges I take it Wii U games are not going to be playable on it disc wise?

Yeah but it's great that nintendo makes good games, but most developers won't develop for the platform if the hardware is bad.

All this third party stuff is great as long as it has the internals to support the standard of games that are being released. Otherwise you just get lazy ports or maybe some compatibility with old 7th gen titles.

Probably.

If they were smart, they'd start at $199 or $249. It would sell much faster that way--unless # of units is somehow an issue.

The Nintendo CEO has already said that they won't sell it at a loss like they did with the Wii U.

There's also a rumored bundle that comes with two games for $399. It sounds fine to me; two first-party Nintendo titles plus the system for the price of a PS4 that came with The Last of Us: Please Buy This Again Edition?

Switch looks like a replacement for the Wii U and 3DS. Another handheld would mean that it would compete with the Switch for sales.

Also means that the handheld support might move to the Switch, meaning the system should maintain a solid level of support even if EA or Ubisoft left it alone.

Nvidia Tegra GPU, so it won't be as powerful as the XB1 or PS4, but it'll be better than the Wii U.

The point of the Switch is that it's a home console and handheld. Regardless of its actual performance, it will receive comparisons based on its advertised uses.

Also it would be boring as fuck to compare it to handhelds. It'll obviously outpower the 3DS, and the Vita is dead and has a 544p screen. At least it inspires discussion as a console.
