But having read the books and playing the first two would just make your experience better. It's the best game this year. By far. Go buy it now. It's quite long too. Which is good. Took me like 60 hours to finish the game. And in those 60 hours I focused mainly on the main story and barely did other things.

The Witcher 2 took me awhile to get into also. But it was fun. Offers a pretty different experience to the third. Since it's linear. The locations are more detailed, and the story feels more focused I guess I should say. But other than that, I like The Witcher 3 more.
