This of course meant that we'd fail since by the time they were able to be revived the other three would get ported into the alternate time dimension thing with no one to open the gate for them.

I've gotten 2 legendary armor pieces and a legendary class item, so it's worth it IMO. There's chest everywhere and have gotten ascendant shards from them. Just random stuff

And the Raid is nothing like the rest of the game. It's really fun and challenging

I've had some bad runs with the raid in the past.

Mostly because everyone I've played it with loses their fucking shit if things start going bad.
Tell me when you're planning on playing it and I'll see if I can drum up the enthusiasm to get through it.

They actually have well crafted set pieces that exploit the gunplay and team mechanics to their fullest. It's kind of hard to explain because they're just so elaborate, but it skyrockets in complexity. The reason why people are treating this like it's a godsend is because it's basically the only legitimate series of set pieces in the game.

Pretty much what Goji said. There are actually some interesting mechanics in it that shake things up such as buffs. debuffs, objectives other than "survive three waves", and it actually requires teamwork and coordination in order to complete.
