we've already had games in classrooms. i spent my formative years playing oregon trail, 3d space pinball, where in the world is carmen san diego, odell down under, amazon trail, yukon trail, and a FUCK TON of other educational games in the classroom.

I think the point of the article is to say that most or all schools in the future will use video games rather than just a few right now. The U.S. Department of Education coming out to say this basically tells us that it will be used much more frequently in the future.

With how terrible the schools are it'd probably work.

I mean I learned more about history from Assassins creed, Civ, and etc then I did at school. At school they just talk about indians and the beginnings of america every year.

I think back in kindergarten all the way to 2nd grade we had educational computer games that were on old computers, i think my elementary school still has those games.
