I do dislike her lack of punctuality.

I do dislike her lack of punctuality.
I also dislike her lack of credible arguments and reluctance to engage in open discourse.

There's a reason I put the transcript there. She can't stop all discourse.

If you could attempt anything she's said here, that'd be great, because I pretty much agree with all of it.

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
My main issue with these works are that it presumes upon "male entitlement" as the issue at hand; in general, I'd expand that to just "entitlement". Towards the end, especially, she makes a comment that male entitlement affects how women interact with each other. Quite frankly, it seems she's using men as a scapegoat for issues. If women weren't interested in rewarding skimpiness, films like Magic Mike wouldn't have been a box office hit (and even though its sequel, Magic Mike XXL, did poorly at the box office in comparison, it still made a large profit).

Another is a comment she makes slightly earlier/later (depending on which section of discussion on male entitlement you predict that I'm speaking of) about "angry public temper tantrums from straight male players have occurred when role-playing games have forced them to interact with gay male characters". The issue with Cortez from Mass Effect 3, and similarly other minorities in Bioware games, is that they are themselves based solely around their "issue"; Cortez is just a gay guy, that's the limit of his development. Anders (Dragon Age II) will react negatively if you refuse him sex after building a significant amount of approval points (a contrast to her issue with reward points in video games, where the player is negatively affected by refusing sex). On the other side, characters who were actually developed past their sexuality are approved of or loved by the gaming community. Dorian (Dragon Age: Inquisition), despite the mixed views towards the game, is generally seen as a good character on his own grounds. Likewise, Arcade Gannon (Fallout: New Vegas) is also a gay character who is beloved and approved of by the gaming community.

I dislike her views, not because they contrast with my own, but because I find it increasingly apparent that they are used to push an agenda and not to inform for the greater benefit of society. No person can be expected, or for that matter possibly be, unbiased on a subject; but her series reeks of bias, with minimal attempts to try and "straighten the curve" toward radical leftist principles.

TRIGGER WARNING:

Verb please. I can't stand that word and people who use it left and right don't even understand what trigger means.

Edit: And no, I'm not watching that because that girl is a literal cancer on feminism. Even at one event she said something along the lines of "I know what I'm talking about, you don't" or something stupid.

Then someone quoted Tywin Lannister saying "Any man who must say, "I am the king" is no true king."

Forget who said it on here, but they're right.

She makes some good points in her videos but most of the time it's just utter bullshit.

"You can kill women in RDR so it's sexist"

"You can kill women in GTA so it's sexist"

"You can fuck women in Mass Effect and Dragon Age so they must just be worthless fucktoys"

like what the hell

She's such an ignorant cunt who shuts out all opinions but her own and cherry picks topics left and right. While she may have some basis for her arguments, the fact she goes on the extreme end and does it like that, only pisses me off more.

Do not look to this women for feminism issues. She's an idiot who does a disservice to any real women actually trying to fight for more equality. We need more Emma Watson's in the world who actually ARE intelligent about what they say.

Alright, memes aside here.

Minus the waffling, what Anita's argument essentially boils down to is the disdain for women being used as goal oriented sexual objectives for the player to achieve, and has thus drawn a fallacious conclusion between this and sexism in a wider context.

What she really fails to recognise, much akin to her other videos, is the market forces that dictate what should be provided in these games. The primary players of hardcore games such as Metroid, The Witcher, GTA (a separate market to the female dominated mobile games market such as Bejewelled, Candy Crush etc) are comprised of males. What gets males to play more of these games? Sex. It has been proven time and time again, sex sells, particularly in regards to men.

She could make the argument that the 'pernicious' exploitation of women in order to sell a product has more wider and harmful implications outside of gaming, but she never attempts to prove these assertions. Particularly this quote: "but when games use a woman’s affection, her body, or her sexuality as a carrot on a stick, they’re actively encouraging men to think of women as objects, prizes, and status symbols" is a false cause fallacy, because she hasn't successfully drawn a logical causation between these two lines of thought. In fact, a study from the University of Buffalo posits the notion that games containing mature content such as violence and sexism can promote or encourage moral sensitivity.

All this video really tells me is the patently patronising outlook Anita has towards gamers, and the inability to form the logical conclusion that most rational thinking people can and will discern between reality and fantasy. So nothing new here from her, really.

TL;DR: into le trash it goes.

There is a reason all of her videos have the like bar and comments disabled too.

and why her Twitter feed is such a joke as well. I wish I could dig up the comment where the first comment, liked more than hers, completely blew what she said out of the water. It was during E3.

Let's not pretend that there isn't a group of people that will immediately respond with a strong backlash to anything she says, even if it was just a five second video of her staring at a camera. There are a minority of people that will expand upon their responses in an intelligent way, but most will just make fart noises and spam dislikes.

I dislike Anita too, but this isn't exactly a paramount point in disregarding her.

There is going to be a strong backlash to anything popular around the web. The very fact though that you're trying to suppress it via turning off the comments, only shows that you're shutting out an entire audience, both support and haters.

If you're going to be strong about what you say, you shouldn't be afraid of what comments will say, or a like and dislike bar. It's blatant censorship. But to your last point, it's not the only thing I have against her as I have said above.

I'm not gonna get into this or her though. I tend to shy away from her, and anything related to Tumblr (i'm lumping them together because I cringe at both), and I'm better off as such.

once again just highlights shitty and retarded features in video games....

i'll point out a couple of things...

resident evil skins:

Spoiler
Spoiler

yea the devs just like to hyper-sexualize the characters in the game in a pathetic attempt to make it light hearted and ridiculous.

most of the people who play video games don't want this shit.

as for the witcher, you play as a female lead for large portions of the game and have a similar romantic option as geralt.

Also Veronica and, by extension, Christine from Fallout New Vegas. Veronica is probably my favourite character in the game, best follower by far.

But I guess it's no surprise that movements for a whole party tend to be in thread of getting hijacked by radicals.

Malcom X was that radical for the blacks along with the Black Panthers

I'll just stick to an educated and open voice like Emma Watson on the issue who actually acknowledges that both genders face horrible stereotypes and mistreatment.

Because it treats women as though they are simple objects, rather than complex subjects.
