What prompted this?

7 months of garbage in the form of anti/pro gamergate. Plus probably Ben Kuchera calling him a racist for no reason, and acting like a general twat on twitter. He (Ben) tried to get some kid fired from his job a while back because he lost an open discussion with him.

All that culminated in a Law and Order SVU episode that anti-gg hyped up, but ended up basically painting all gamers as terrorists, and bringing back the old 'video games cause violence' narrative. Had some hilariously bad lines though. Plus VG24/7 subtlely threatening devs to shut up or else, which riled up everyone from Kevin Levine to Pewdiepie.

In short shitstorm. Beautiful shitstorm for once. Too much to really type out in any decent detail. Basically these journalists have quite literally been calling people who dared disagree with them equal to KKK, ISIS, etc. Then they act appalled when the msm suddenly starts painting gamers as the KKK and ISIS, and shitting on the industry as a whole.

Ben is an attention seeking, talentless hack who deserves whats coming. He even had the sack to try and publicly shame ME when I sturred up a rukus about GG Autoblock...

I know I should, because games are a hobby of mine, but I just don't give a shit about gaming journalism in the slightest. I like entertaining reviews, but that's about it.
