Mind you one reason I think the battle was a lot tidier was because it may have been a battle vs another person rather than AI

I know you guys are excited for this game, but I strongly caution you wait a good week before you get it, just to make sure it's not completely broken. I remind you that we're going down the same path of Rome 2 right now, and they made that game look amazing before launch too.

So yeah just... ya know, remain cautiously optimistic. I DOUBT CA would make the same mistake again, but they easily hurt their brand with Rome 2.

True it's very possible, they sent out review copies this month and reviewers are supposedly allowed to start posting their ratings tomorrow. I'm not sure if this was similar to what happened with Rome 2

You know what, I don’t like Attila. I'm sick of disease, I’m fed up of food shortages, everything costs too much, and my troops couldn't defend a carrot from a rabbit, but I hate Attila as an individual more than anything.
When I’d finally managed to break up the Huns giant hobo camp that they’d created surrounding my frontier settlement, by abandoning it entirely, the Huns spread out across my boarders, once they declared war on me I was able to isolate and destroy their armies. Not well of course, turning up with a mere 2-1 advantage in numbers just means that the Huns can annihilate me with impunity. For years Total War has trained me that spears are the solution to horses, but the Huns are able to charge spears head-on with horse archers, and win the combat easily. So, 2-1 just doesn’t cut it. Then, when I managed to isolate Attila’s army, I wiped it out totally, including trapping Attila himself in the kind of violent gang-bang that not even Ava Devine could endure. Of course he eventually broke, and his unit was wiped out. But as I watched and waited for the notification that the enemy general had died, it never came. Instead when the unit count reached one, the little white unit flag drifted halfway across the map to a lone rider, Attila, who had somehow escaped and now casually rode off into the hills. Back on the campaign map, he was simply removed without a word only to reappear many turns later with a fresh army. That I once again wiped out. He escaped with half his bodyguard and three fairly damaged units. “Oh good”, I thought, “He will be really easy to kill now!”. But, no. He was removed from the map again. Other armies manage to struggle on with less troops, but not Attila the bloody Hun!

I read somewhere that it can take up to three tries to finally kill that fucker.  Thankfully in my main Saxon Empire playthrough, the Lombards killed him as he besieged their capital, so I didn't have to deal with him.  But I lost so many villages and towns up north because of the 3 or 4 full-stack Hun spam.

Just...jesus.  I like Attila the game (it just feels smoother than Rome 2 at time), but the endless Hun horde just ruins it.  They don't feel fun to fight, compared to the Mongols from Medieval 2.
