Story time: When I was a kid, Pokemon Emerald was the first Pokemon game I played properly. I loved the shit out of it. it was perfect. I even bought it with my own money! Later on it got stolen. I was fucking HEARTBROKEN.

So for years I've been looking round for a new one. Ages spent looking on Ebay and other sites, all either fakes or just the cartridge. As someone who both wants to collect the games and fill that nagging feeling of loss in my heart, it sucked to run into the difficulty of finding a boxed copy for a reasonable price, but today something great happened, I found a boxed copy in my local retro games shop! It was £40, and I had a pile of games that I didn't play any more, so I traded them in and was able to get Emerald again!




Seriously I cannot describe how good it feels. I know Emulators are a thing and that's good and all, but there's just something so much nicer about having the real thing, and it feels good finally having it again.

I wish I still had the box for my Emerald. It was the first game I properly owned myself. Kinda crazy to think how old it is and just how many hours I've put into it.

That would require a serious amount of effort and time that I can't justify. Also I'm pretty sure my mom has them up in Michigan.

It's hard to describe how I feel about RSE. It just makes me feel nice and warm and fuzzy inside. I'd say it's nostalgia but I don't like saying that word

I think it's also possible to purchase the boxes/manuals by themselves online, but good job man! I'm an advocate for playing the genuine products. I've still got Ruby and Emerald lying around somewhere. This kinda makes me want to complete my "to buy" list but financial priorities man

Side note, that previous owner did NOT fuck around.
