They should bring Pokemon (at least gen 1-3) to Wii-U virtual console.

I don't think Nintendo directly owns the Pokemon games.
According to Sakurai it was hard to get Pokemon in Smash Bros.
They don't even advertise Smash Bros on the Pokemon website, and when they do they make errors, like saying Lucario was in Melee or Mewtwo in 64.

But given Pokemon Ltd.'s affiliation with Nintendo/lack thereof with Sony/MS, and the potential financial benefit of Releasing their older titles on Virtual console, I'd expect it would be relatively inexpensive, and there wouldn't be too much of a Legal issue there? I can't really think of a reason it wouldn't be viable, aside from maybe coders expect it to be too much of an effort to port?

i'm assuming he meant games that are actually like a more traditional pokémon game
with tall grass, gyms, gameplay that doesn't completely suck the life out of you, etc.
