The EB Games Expo/Fallout Cosplay (we're here yo)

Okay lads, a few days to go and me and Exodus go on our gaming adventure to the EB games expo in Sydney. Will put down updates on our adventures and games and so on that we see (playable Fallout 4 will be bae)

Annnnnd cosplay. My lady will be going as a dweller from Vault 13, and I will be going as an NCR Ranger, pics inbound.

Theres a few pics in these, also note, I will be updating the OP, as not all our weapons (props) are done, and Exo's outfit is almost complete.

Firstly, my trusty .50 Cal

Now, this baby used to be a Nerf Centurion

This is what its meant to be.

Well, we made some changes to that

How did you extend it you ask? Vaccum cleaner nozzle and paper mache for the break.

The woodgrain looks much better in person

Now, I will have a revolver as well, but it isn't yet done, only have a few days left, but Im confident.

So that was the helmet and armour, now the rest of it all together (note I forgot to wear my little balaclava, so you won't see mah neck later on)

For reference with the size of that gun, its about as tall as Exo

UPDATE NUMERO UNO!

(threw in the Sniper section an updated pic, plus what its meant to represent ingame, have done this with the rest of the guns)

Okay now, first up my revolver, this is just something I grabbed at a toy store for $5

Which is meant to represent .357 Magnum Revolver

It looks quite funky actually.

Next side

Close up of my woodgrain paintwork, took a bit of effort, but this is what Im happy with

So this will be my sidearm.

Now, onto Exo's weapons, she has her armour at the moment, so we'll upload those tomorrow.
But first, her weapons. I present to you her Assault Rifle (Based roughly off of the variant in FO3) this took a bit of work for me to paint, as the woodgrain required was quite, fidgety.

Now this is a Nerf Retaliator

Which (like above) is based on the Assault Rifle from Fallout 3

We've changed it quite a bit, the appeal isn't exact, but suited it to the gun we physically had, to make sense.

What's that on the front? Well, to be honest I'm not sure, PVC pipe, with a few bits of pieces of rubber rings and metal, hot glued together and seal to the appeal I wanted, obviously making a break that small out of mache would be a bit difficult, so I improvised.

And lastly for her side-arm, the trusty 10mm, this, luckily was quite easy, due to it not being overly detailed.

Now this is a Nerf Magnus

Which has been fitted to look like the 10mm Pistol, reoccurring in all Fallout games.

Still clicks back, actually while Im at this, all the Nerf guns I've painted still work like they were intended, and due to the barrel extensions on the previous two they actually fire at a longer range and at better precision, the finish and a small rub of WD40 lubricant helped the cocking mechanisms function normally and without scratching the new paint.

And thats it for the first update, will check in tomorrow with another...........ahh hell we got one more, I plan on playing with a few of the clerks at the expo.

Obviously I won't hold them up with the gun. But I'll try and see if any will actually let me use the caps (all been painted and weathered) as payment. I know the answer will be no, but laughs will ensue on both ends of the counter.

Had a small issue with the final coat on one gun...fixed it but need to wait another night. Its all done. Just got too dark to photograph. Tomorrow.

Also got something else cool done. Its nothing jaw dropping but cool, and will allow me to prank some people.

eh no worries, i was actually about to PM you cause i wanted to see all of the images. looks awesome from what i can see so far though. did you use any fan sites to help or did you do all this solo (with your girlfriend)?

Mostly solo, with the help of Exo, we used some sources for particulars, like painting woodgrain, but I mainly got a rough idea, and went with what I thought made sense.

He was helpful and painted certain decals to my choosing.

Okay sooo....first day done...really fucking tired I'll update everyone on games when i get back in a couple of days.

Photo wise I'll see how much I can find. Had about 40+ different groups and people take pictures of us....it was an amazing feeling. Had Xbox staff offer us work as cosplayers at following conventions and hanged out at the Fallout 4 booth and spoke with a Bethesda employee. We sat around and pretty much promoted the booth and stood there looking pretty, got another offering from one of the booth members there and had a great time. Also got free stuff because we dressed up xD

Entering the cosplay comp tomorrow. Wish us luck.

It was so damn hot and sweaty also. Ill sleep well tonight.

It was a load of fun, got at least over a hundred people stopping us for photos, got given cards by fellow cosplayers and even a possible offer from Bethesda employees to be at coming conventions.
