I have a feeling it'll still be lackluster.

It says they'll have a subscription based "Premium" system... so just like most free to play games all the goodies will be behind a paywall, so enjoy grinding for years to get meager equipment, or pay up and get a years' worth of excitement as everything becomes easier to do but equipment is more expensive, so you have to grind again to get more cool shit.

Not a rant, just if similar f2p/p2p games like Runescape are anything to go by...

I bet they pay wall the crap out of this. The game has always been a cash grab, and I don't see that changing by going f2p. Its a shame because the idea isn't horrible. It was just executed so badly.

FFXIV is still sub based and mantains over 2million users. I think if Zenimax would have relaunched, like SE did, they could have done just as well.
