Re-Logic is far and away the best developer i can think of in terms of releasing content. it's been four years after the Terraria release date and they're still producing great new content. the last two patches were amazing, and i'm hype as shit for this one. 800 new items whaaaaaaat

That steam integration is nice, getting the server to work is fiddly at times.

On first glance the similarities are there, block building and resource gathering shit'n'stuff.

However it's the combat and items where similarities fall off. Terraria kinda turns JRPG-esq with the plethora of weapons, armors, and spells with varying stats that you fight many different bosses with. Just without turn based nonsense.

alternatively 'metroidvania' could describe some aspects of the game, if youve heard of the term.

I didn't really care for the game. The music was probably a tad better than Minecraft, but they didn't have to use that retro style.

Not really, I thought so at first too but Terraria is way more RPG, not at all a survival game-not 2D minecraft
