He's slow as fuck though. Sometimes he'll throw a regular attack and whoever he's fighting will hit him first, even if they attacked after him.

I don't know why he has such a bad rep in Sm4sh. His smashes are scary (aside from having a lot of starting/ending lag). I recently found that he can't be jabbed out of a Warlock Punch at low % either.

Weirdly enough, his speed doesn't bother me at all. His recovery is poor but coming from Falcon, I'm used to it. He more than makes up for his lack of speed with his powerful attacks and low KO chance, IMO.

After playing Smash Melee today I'm considering spending the last of my savings on a Wii-U. I really want to get into it.

But I haven't really heard much about Ganon in SSB4. I think Verb used him against Rocket and won so idk...

Whilst I'm not exactly an Expert on SSB, Gannondorf is probably my tertiary (behind Link and Jigglypuff) and I don't seem to fare much worse in games than my 2 mains. His Smash attacks have a lot of knockback and damage dealt, but I can see how a good opponent would be able to punish his low speed; likely not good in high level tournaments but I have fun playing as him.

I recommend only getting a Wii-U if you can find a premium bundle for under $250 USD tbh, have some patience in that regard, but it'll be worth the wait fam.

I killed myself using Capt. Falcon (who isn't my main) during that match.
Verb uses Sheik now. But like I said, if you can read and punish you'll steamroll people.

Anything else I should get for my "Wii-U starter kit"?

Ethernet/USB adaptor if you're playing online. Wii-U wireless network cards make SSB online almost unplayably laggy otherwise. Mario Kart 8's coding can handle bad connections well, but Sm4sh doesn't.
