I'm honestly surprised you like SF, Verb.

Oh, it has a lot of stereotypical fighting game bullshit--ridiculously-dressed female characters being my biggest thing (which wasn't a problem in Third Strike), along lame newcomers and AI that notoriously cheats (they don't have to buffer motions, so they can just do special attacks whenever). But it's still a really fun and hype game series that takes some serious skill to play well.

The cheating AI thing could be chalked up to giving the player a means to study his or her own habits. In Street Fighter IV, Zangief's AI would spam his spinning piledriver all day every single time you got near him, without fail. This teaches you to, uh, not get near him. Bait and punish the grab.

The best thing about SFV is that we're never going to see a Super Street Fighter V. Or an Ultra Street Fighter V, or an Ultimate Street Fighter V: Super Mega Hyper Chocolaty Edition. There's just gonna be one iteration of the game, according to Capcom, and updates will come only in the form of DLC (which you don't have to pay for) and patches. This is a great move and other game studios should take notes.

Street Fighter is literally the pinnacle of fighting games that require skill. And this guy has it in spades with that amazing rebound!

From what I understand, that attack is one of the hardest to parry in the game, due to the unpredictable rhythm and the fact that you need to do specific DIs for high, medium and low attacks? I needed to rewatch it a fair bit when I first saw the video.

Parrying Chun-Li's full super art is pretty advanced, yeah, but what really makes it godlike is how he managed to pull it off live, in tournament, with a screaming crowd behind him--and with just the tiniest sliver of health left. To top it all off, the little combo he does at the end, too, is immaculate. I always get chills when the crowd gets started.

The moment is so iconic, the two players tried to re-enact it ten years later.
