Started playing The Witcher 3, have some questions

What's the best way to heal? I keep raw meat whenever I find it, but it doesn't heal me that much. Can I cook it to give me more HP?

It said to consider levelling up before doing harder quests, is it worth wandering off into the world to do other stuff, or is it best to stay in the area?

What area? White Orchard? Stay there, finish everything, then move on. From there, do whatever you want. I wouldn't worry about leveling up for quests, unless it's too hard for you.

As for healing. On the two lowest difficulties I think you can just press meditate for full health. Otherwise Swallow Potion and food will do.

Food and potions are your best bet, but make sure to keep an eye on toxicity if you use potions, it's a mechanic that kills you if you use too many potions at once

Also you will get killed if you stray too far out at lower levels, level up a bit first

I usually just abuse the Quen sign and try to never take damage.
Depending on your difficulty, you can also meditate to regain all of your HP outside of combat.

Lol, you're basically on the first quest. You have a LONG LONG LONG journey ahead. Enjoy. I wish I could go back and play it for the first time ever. Just finished my second play through like 2 weeks ago. Still fun. Buy the expansion pass when you're done too. Blood and Wine should be out soon. It will be adding a new region and 20+ hours of story. Hearts of Stone added around 15. It was great.

I just killed the first Wild Hunt guy in the cave with Keira, was pretty hard. I kept stunning him with Axll, running up and hitting him with a heavy attack then retreat and repeat.

he took so much killing

I was juggling quen and heavies when he was stunned from the burst, took forever and when he started to heal I was a little bit mad
