I did a run on DKS2 and 3 before, didnt do great on console, but its still pretty easy, my sister has a really good record on bloodborne.

I'm subscribed to gunnermaniac3 on YouTube, who currently holds the world record for Pokémon Red, Yellow, and Crystal.

Not familiar with Pokemon speedruns. Is it to defeat all the gyms asap or to collect all pokemon asap?

Do you have a preference to any% or 100%?

any%, only because it lends people to break the game in the most complete way they possibly can. 100%, more often than not, is a series of .01 second time savers.

There was a half life speedrun I quite enjoyed. I like watching LobosJr. for dark souls speed runs since he mixes it up a bit.

I also enjoy watching LobosJr. His Dark Souls 1HP challenge run is still my favorite.

Any% for Blue/Silver means "underflow/code your way to the Hall of Fame/Red", 151/100% is catch 'em all. For Red, Yellow, or any Pokémon game that isn't held together by ducktape  (not very many), it's the Elite Four.

Red races are fun.

There are "catch 'em all" runs, but they're a lot less common for obvious reasons.

Nope, not without breaking the rules of the game. The only thing they allow you to "skip" (as far as I'm aware) is the Marowak battle in Pokémon Tower. You can actually use a Poké Doll during that fight and skip the battle entirely. This is considered by speedrunners to be a sequence break, not a glitch, because the doll is being used for its intended purpose.

I never saw the appeal. Why would I watch somebody else play a game when I could play it myself? Unless they have funny commentary or something.

It's just dependent on the audience's tastes tbh

Vicarious gaming is pretty neat to me as a whole cause I'm a broke ass nigga and Halo Customs streams legit look fun, but I think the main appeal is in picking up/learning certain techniques across a few games.
