I'm just saying, the first time Warhammer 40k ever done an FPS, but did it in a pore way, fine. If this FPS Warhammer game is better then the Tau Warrior one then i'll just shut up and enjoy the shit out of it. Done for the second in a failed way then my doubts have been proven.

Hmm, well CoD pulled it off for the russkie army in their WW2 games. They had worse attrition rates than most guard units, so it *could* be done <.<

Survival FPS?

Could be an Alien: Isolation-esque game, or some excuse could be made for how you can kill every adversary you come across.

They could also do a sort of anthology of stories from the perspectives of various guardsmen, which would absolve them of needing to keep a solitary protagonist alive through practically impossible odds.

Yeah, well obviously it depends on the battle/regiment/doctrine/fluff but if you compare the battle of stalingrad which had 1,000,000 casualties and another million in wounded/desertion/mia in the fight for once city with 40k wars, usually you have to be looking at planetary sized engagements to start getting the same casualty lists >.>
The whole meatgrinder/hammer AND the anvil strategy stuff tends to be the preserve of DKOK and Valhallans, regiments like the Firstborn and the Cadians don't tend to have such appalling rates of attrition >.>
