Spoiler So why did people hate the ending to MGSV?

Obviously SPOILERS!!!! If you cant tell by the title saying "ENDING" then you're just dumb...

I hear that people are hating the ending to this magnificent game. Whereas they find out that they were never playing as Big Boss, instead it was the Medic who pulled the bomb out of Paz in Ground Zeroes. You assumed Big Bosses identity and Big Boss assumed yours in order to protect himself and go off to create Outer Heaven. Many people wanted to witness the huge downfall of this man! It was something they waited on for decades.

Instead they got something that makes a bit more sence in retrospect. Now I could type it out and explain for ages, but I will just let this do the talking:

That explination makes alot of sence to me... Which is why I think the ending is great! Even genious!

Would've been nice to see Big Boss get to the point where he's okay with using child soldiers and endless war. Or if they had finished off what the fuck happened to the Metal Gear and Eli that just left.

Its in the cut ending. You pretty much fight the metal gear again in a Lord of the Flies style mission. And maybe that was the whole thing with Venom Snake who became that 2nd Big Boss and was ok with all of that.

Yeah, it's cut that's why it's a problem. The fact that it once existed as the ending to the game doesn't change that it isn't.

You dont have to explain every detail about a story. Some things can be left to infer by you. Look what The Last of Us did? I did not tell us why Joel did what he did. It is left up to us to put the pieces together instead of spoonfeading every scenario to us.

Then again you could do the same with Rising, and just replace it with 'Raiden got a sword and did stuff in the future'

The fact that it's on the blu-ray disc proves that it's canon. They wouldn't release it if it wasn't.

This was the only logical way I can see them explaining the first two metal gears. Big Boss was never really a villian to me, just like The Boss we were told she was a traitor--when really it was something different. Like we were decieved into something that could have had another explination.

The concept behind Ahab and Ishmael is solid. The execution is awful. I think that's where people's problems arise.

I thought the same thing until I was reminded of just who BB was in MG1/2.

MGS3 and Peace Walker changed the way I remembered Big Boss... but regardless, he was still a pretty fucking evil person. Especially in MG2.

The Boss was a traitor. She betrayed Big Boss.

Whatever BB's intentions were in MG2, he was still an evil asshole. He brainwashes his best man (without his consent) to take the heat off of himself while he builds a nation for soldiers on the shoulders of child soldiers.

I mean, Solidus Snake had good intentions. Still evil.
