Oh and that bad game with the first one set the standard for FPS titles.

Go play 007 Goldeneye. That was the first shooter I've played on console and was out before Halo came into my life in 2003.

It was so bad, I wish I hadn't revisited. The nostalgia was far better, but it's still there I guess.

Halo is completely mediocre. It was revolutionary in the way that it was so simplified and skeletal mechanically that it could work using a console controller instead of a keyboard and mouse. Besides that one feat, every other gameplay "innovation" past that can be credited to Call of Duty, which is much more influential (but no less mediocre) than Halo on today's FPS games.

Aside from Halo and the people I play with, I don't really see much reason to XB1. I mean, most of the games I play are multiplatform like Battlefield or Titanfall or single player like Fallout and Elder Scrolls. Truth be told, I prefer using a controller to K&M, so I prefer to play my multiplayer shooters on console.

Otherwise, PC has mods and really good RTS games like Starcraft II.

So yeah, for me, Halo, friends and more comfortable to use are my reasons.

I don't use mine as much as I did with my 360. Honestly, I would just look at the games it has and decide from there. Personally I wasn't planning on getting one until I heard about the MCC.

If you do get one, you should pick up Sunset Overdrive, I loved that game.

The Wii-U currently has, in my opinion, the most fun games for local Multiplayer, so personally I'd recommend that if you have a few friends who visit regularly/play games. That said, you'll probably be better off waiting until the price drops with the release of the NX to get one.

If you expect to be playing Halo 5/MCC enough to justify the purchase of an Xbone, then go ahead, but you probably won't be interested in playing other games.

Come to think of it, I can only think of a few Current Gen games that I'd actually bother playing, to be honest. Has Variety always been this low, or am I just noticing it now?

Which has only been used in a couple of Call of Duty games outside of Halo. Wouldn't call it influential. Actually, all it really did was take something that was already done (recording games), except make it available in game instead of externally. With the introduction of the share buttons on consoles, there's even less of a need for it (Although it's been brought back again by BO3, admittedly).
