Honestly, it just looked silly.  I don't understand the franchise anymore.  It was so popular because of how "super spec-ops tactical" it made itself out to be, and now it's dudebros jumping 30 ft in the air, doing tricks, and shooting mecha-tanks.

Halo is space sci-fi stunning environments and aliens.

Battlefield was big environments and destruction physics.

TF2 is comical and light hearted to a degree.

Maybe it's because it doesn't really have it's own flavor at this point. It just goes with the trends and no longer has much of an identity for itself.

That, or you could say that it helped foster shit elements in the shooter communities and gaming communities and marked some bad trends in gaming industry.

I'm going to be completely honest, I saw this trailer the other day when I was half paying attention and swore it was a new Titanfall. I was shocked when at the end it said BOIII. Really Treyarch?

Halo has a rich universe and for the most part, good campaigns and stories (excluding 3 and Reach).
It has a fun mixed bag of gametypes which most of them rely on teamwork and map control.
It has customs, where you can make all kinds of fun gametypes.
It has forge, where you can basically make whatever you like, be it maps or art.

TF2 is a light hearted comical game that isn't supposed to be taken seriously.
It also relies on teamwork and map control.

Battlefield is a large scale shooter with all kinds of shit happening (air combat, ground vehicle combat, falling buildings), which again, relies on teamwork (well, it's supposed to anyway).

And CoD is a yearly rehashed twitch shooter that does nothing new each time.
It had Zombies, but that got boring after Black Ops 1 because it was the same thing each time.

It looks like a jumbled mess. With Battlefront and Halo 5 will COD be dethroned this year? It's still going to sell millions based on the title alone. If it were another WWII or Cold War game I would definitely buy it.

If COD keeps up with this futuristic bullshit, there is no hope for COD. UNLESS it goes back to WW2.

They're fighting games. They're not traditional, like SF or MK, but they're fighting games.

therefore, an FPS game fan is more likely to enjoy more games of that genre than someone who plays fighting games
