By any chance have you got the Legendary Edition of x32 Skyrim that's been on any Steam sale recently? If so, you already have it, save you buying it twice.

If consoles only, do you still have your '360 to play it on? Buying all the DLC for that would be cheaper and you'll have basically the exact same thing. If not, getting it for current-gen might be worth it if you are likely to make use of the improvements they have made.

I personally couldn't see value in buying it again for consoles when I still have access to it on '360 and also on PC, so I'm thankful there that it was a free upgrade.

It's literally Skyrim with slightly higher brighness settings and the DLC included.

If you didn't find any reason to play the game during the four years after you got every achievement and don't bother about the DLC you have no reason to rebuy the same game.

I wouldn't say it's worth the money, but if you want to give Skyrim a go, and you're playing on console and want mods, then go for it.

If you liked Skyrim, don't have a PC, never played the DLC or any combination then I'd say get it.

If you want it then get it, I'd just recommend getting it at a lower price in a week or two.

If you've never played Skyrim on PC, you're in for a treat. Go for it! The mods will be worth it.

Apparently (?) I missed the window of opportunity to get it free. Here's hoping the extra foliage will be modded into regular Skyrim. Unless Remastered gets SkyUI, I mean, I'll still miss it but not as much.

That z-fighting in the mountains though

Yeah, two things that stood out to me right away is dynamic depth of field, and no more z-fighting. I was so happy.
