big epic story with dragons in high fantasy open world setting is probably the easiest way to bait awards

if you're able to make a game that resembles that description, the game is automatically good and impressive

It's the kind of game that's impressive to people who don't play many games. Plus Bethesda games are the only ones to use the "Bethesda dungeon crawler theme park" model of open world, so they have no competition in that regard so people will settle for what there is.

Shut the hell up. Bethesda Fallout games have some of the richest lore in any RPG ever made.
