I think they will. If they put it in Assault Horizon they got to put the Nosferatu in this game since it fits the Strangereal setting more than the real world.

It's Ace Combat. The only one that didn't was Assault Horizon and that wasn't amazing. It's like a weird mix of that, and sci fi. That's what makes it great.

Assault Horizon is the only one that doesn't take place in the Strangereal universe. Plus it had that stupid dogfight mechanic that I hated and the helicopter missions/controls were awful.

Hope Project Aces ditched those and brought us back the traditional Ace Combat gameplay.

I mean Japs made Dark Souls, and even with the entire thing being one huge Berserk refference it doesnt have much of an anime feel to it in the way this does.

Probably because Miyazaki deliberately went with the Western Medieval look with Dark Souls. Besides they're two completely different genres.

Wait, so does average game play mostly revolve around just using missiles?

You're fighting against other jets, ground targets (tanks, SAM turrets, structures etc.), and sometimes giant airships like the one in the video. You have 1 primary missile weapon which is the jet's default primary weapon and you can select a special weapon as your secondary weapon to use. This, depending on the jet you pick, has a bunch of different special weapons like missiles with faster targeting, radar jamming abilities, JDAMs. AGMs, and sometimes ridiculous ones like Fuel Air Bombs and Railguns. Once again, this is all based on the jet you pick.

Every jet you fly also has a main gun to use that is helpful in dogfights and bombing runs. The multi-purpose jets like the F-15 and Su-35 are the most fun to fly because you can do all kinds of damage to all targets.

what is dogfight mode and why is it bad

It's a mechanic that was introduced in Assault Horizon. Once you get near a jet, you press the QTE to activate DFM and your jet in engaged in a on-rails shooter scenario where your jet is directly behind the jet you targeted with DFM. It's cool to see because you get to see the jets up close in battle which wasn't really done before so you can see the pieces of metal and destruction you cause on the enemy jet and see it fall apart in great detail.

When you're in DFM mode however, your jet is flying by itself automatically and will follow the enemy jet by itself as you have no control except for the guns. Your jet flying itself eliminates the tension and awesome feel you get when playing Ace Combat, as the game is pretty much playing on its own at that point. Also, there's special enemies in the game called Aces who can only be destroyed by using DFM.

Overall, DFM was a neat mechanic from a cinematic viewpoint but was too scripted and relied too much on QTEs instead of giving the player full control.
