Go for a FPS. What are you building/coding it in?
That is awesome that you are making a game. Are you doing it as a project for a college course or simply because you want to do it and learn from the experience?

I would say a racing game personally, but only because of the huge amount of FPS games that not only flood the market from actual gaming studios, but from Indie developers as well.
