Xbox 360 Dark Souls has a pretty healthy online population still. And of course the Xbox controller is way better.

As a PS3 user I can confirm this as true. Xbox controller is way better.

I didn't play the first one but the second is amazing. Lots of stuff to keep you going. Took me 80 hours to beat the story, and there was only really one boss (looking glass knight) I got stuck on.

PS3 is a no go unless you live in Japan because its community is dead.

Xbox 360 has the most active / best PVP community still, so it's a very popular choice.

PC offers the best single player experience due to 60fps and best performance, but lacks in the multiplayer department.

When I had it on PC it was literally an Xbox port. Had Xbox button prompts and everything. Did they ever fix that?

Do yourself a favor and actually play the game Miyazaki had his touch on. He's like Kojima and MGS. Without him, it's not Souls.

I hope you have the mod and controller to actually make it playable. The port was awful.

Dark Souls 2 has much better PvP though.

No arguing that. But the majority of the Souls experience comes from the atmosphere, bosses, music, and everything else. PvP is the thing that helps keep the longevity.

Dark Souls 1 nailed all of those mentioned above better (except PvP).

Someone told me that I should get some sort of mod for it, but I have a controller and the game seems to be working fine by itself.

Agreed. The first souls just had this atmosphere that the second one could not capture. Thankfully, Dark Souls 3 will have an even greater influence from Miyazaki than the first one had. It's going to be awesome, and it will be a great end to the series.

I'm not saying Dark Souls 2 is bad, it's a great game, but Dark Souls 1 just outshines Dark Souls 2 like a pulsar outshining a candle.
