Is it worth getting when there's a price drop and I don't really have anything else to play? There's not any new games I'm interested in, but I really enjoyed Shadow of Mordor.

I'll not be touching any of the lootboxes or downloadable shit but is the game itself fun?

emigrate or degenerate. the choice is yours
It's serviceable. Improved upon SoM in many ways, but also took a couple steps back.

Siege battles are one hit wonders. Fun after a while but the novelty wears off fairly quickly. Besides Orc dialogue they're all p much the same formula. Capture zones, kill warchiefs, then confront the overlord.

Campaign is a bit stale. Talion is still a cardboard cut out, so don't expect overt characterisation this time round. Celembrimbor is like a fucking broken record throughout the game, constantly harping on about this fucking Palanthir which is somehow critical for the fight against Sauron for whatever reason.

Nemesis system is still peng. They've added a couple new features but I wouldn't say it's wholly different from Mordor's nemesis system.

Fun game, but it's bogged down by a lot of weird and lacklustre features. Not worth a AAA price tag, that's for sure.

The open world, gameplay and nemesis system is all I'm into, the story was pretty shit in SoM too.
