Seroiusly what's with the daddy issues in Mass Effect?

Espesialy in ME2, it's just about everyone.

Jacob: thought he lost his dad only to find out that he was some cult leader raping women on some crashed ship

Miranda: Her dad was some generic Lex Luthor billionare who was trying to eat her clone sister or some shit

Jack: Was kidnaped and put into the Jedi Spartan program and never had parents or a family and hated athourity because of the evil summer camp gestapo

Garrus: His daddy issues were in Mass Effect 1 but i'm still counting it

Samara/Morinth: /thread

Legion: It's "parents" tried to wipe it and it's other siblings as soon as they figured out they were self-aware,

Thane: He is a daddy issue

Tali: Her dad turned out to be a mad scientist and almost got her banned from Space-Islam

That leaves Mordin (The only character in the game with a non-dysfunctional family) Kasumi (Literaly who?) and ~~Captain Price~~ Zaeed.

Was this a conscious decision by Bioware? is the company comprised of people who hate their parents?

And the three you listed that aren't daddy issues have relationship issues.

Kasumi's stuck on the issue of having what's left of her dead boyfriend's memories locked away inside a computer chip.

Mordin, although fine with his family, has issues with his protege and best friend and basically would've killed him.

Zaeed lost the blue suns company to his co-founding member who stabbed him in the back.

And you can't forget EDI, what with her dad being space charelston heston.

So yeah. If it wasn't daddy issues, it was friend issues.

ME is one of the biggest game franchises I haven't played, that I've been meaning to get around to.

Could be Bioware just isn't very good at writing and relies too much on generic character tropes.
