With the MP Beta having some questionable mechanics from its outsourced developer. It makes me wonder that if the SP is nothing short of spectacular on a massive scale, that this could be another one of their games that just slowly fades into the background and forgotten. The same thing happened to Rage. Really hope this brings ID back to the forefront on shooters.

They didnt. I believe the people mostly responsible for the map packs for CoD and Halo are the ones making the MP.

Certain Affinity handled multiplayer, id made the singleplayer and (I believe) snapmap.

I'm going to enjoy the complete DooM and HoE remakes in snapmap. The game ships with e1m1 iirc.

I'm still baffled that people were expecting non-arena gametypes to play like an Arena game type.
They were clearly labelled TDM and Warpath (NOT Arean TDM or Arean Warpath) but anyway...

OT: I waited over 12 years for this. I made facebook pages dedicated to Doom news (they are still there and active), I played the fuck out of Rage because it was the closest thing I had to Doom 4. I emailed Tim and John right after they cancelled Doom 4. I tracked down Mick Gordon before anyone knew that he was working on Doom 4 and asked him if he knows when Doom might be coming out.
This is my personal Half-life 3, except this is actually happening. Don't care if people forget about it after two weeks, I will still be playing.
