That's pretty cynical fam. Story was pretty good and solid from the novels up to Halo 3, where the general direction was okay but details were iffy.

the terminals were the pinnacle of halo storytelling in that game, imo

True those were pretty great, although at the time I couldn't make sense of them.

Shame that they had some cringeworthy lines and the storyline wasn't as compelling as Halo 2, though.

There was a time when people bought Halo for both single player and multiplayer... me included. That reason was lost after Halo 3.

He certainly is not wrong to think that.

Pretty much since the start of Halo more people have flocked to the Multiplayer rather than the Campaign. And the more games cost to make, the big heads and investors are going to start to push more for what sells. If they see numbers that show the Campaign hardly impacts unit sales, they are more than likely going to cut it.

But due to the Master Chief being a huge staple to the series and Xbox as a whole I doubt that we wont see Halo Campaigns reaching the chopping block any time soon.

He's not wrong, which makes it more baffling that Halo 5 has less multiplayer gamemodes/playlists than previous titles.

Luckily, Halo 5's campaign is pretty fun to replay
