Playing Region Locked Gamecube games on the Wii

I'm trying to figure out how to avoid moding my wii in order to play a japanese gamecube game on my wii.
I looked online and the directions are really confusing, and I even tried the whole "start" and "eject disk" at the same time and I couldn't get it to work.

Any advice?

I think I just found a door through smash bros brawl that lets me play region-locked games, but it keeps glitching out and I can't figure it out fully.

It's an emulator for your PC. You can download any GC game you want and play it there without using the Wii, and I imagine those include region-locked games.

Well then couldn't you just buy an important GameCube? Unless you're absolutely dead-set on doing it on your Wii. Modding it sounds far easier, though.

Instructions I read said to hit start a second or so after hitting eject. Maybe try that pause?

Oh I play Project M almost everyday lol.
That's how I was able to play the Japanese region-locked Mario Tennis for the GC on my Wii.
I was surprised it worked to be honest.

No the gamecube and wii are both American. I got my hands on a Japanese Mario Tennis.
I'm about to invest in a japanese wii.
I just bought the Japanese Smash Bros Melee for GC too.
If you can't tell I collect retro consoles and games.
