so a number of friends have recommended this game to me and after doing a little research i have officially bought into the hype. does anyone here have experience with the game? i'm downloading as i type this

Hunger games esq game with a fun squad system and, now, a first person mode. You spawn in, grab weapons, kill whoever you see, grab more weapons, survive and slowly move into a random area of the map, or you get left behind the kill-zone and you die, it stops camping, be the last to survive and you win chicken dinner.

Got its fair share of bugs and glitches so be ready for that.

i didn't know anything about this game until recently, and i actually think it's a cool concept

but it's too much of a meme, and i don't know if i want to support some faggot who unironically names his game after his tag

Extremely fun, especially with the new FPP mode.

Crawling in grass is your best friend towards the end of the game: you're practically invisible. I've had people literally standing on me without noticing.

Its not so different from the Tom Clancy's games or Clive Baker's franchise of games. Nothing wrong from gaining recognition.

considering the game is still in early access bugs and glitches can be expected, but one thing that's annoyed me a little bit is that you can't change your settings in-game.

When it works, it's great. When it doesn't... well. It's early access for a reason.

I enjoy playing it but it is still clearly in early access for one key reason. Optimization.

the LAAAAAAG for the first 10 minutes of every match can be atrocious, being stuck on screen for up to a min at a time (I've had to quit the game a few times over it) if you try to open your tab screen while things are loading.

And the other is just sometimes it takes forever for the houses in front of you to load when you first land, and that can be crucial. So idk, if you wanna try it, go ahead, but at the same time nothing will kill you if you wait for them to stabilize it more.

Game is insanely fun when it works. Insanely frustrating when it doesn't. Take that how you will.

I thought that when it first came out, but every other week it seems to be that it's breaking new records for how many it's selling. It's been more than a few months now so I don't think player population is dying like it did with H1Z1. Only game I see taking away from it is Escape from Tarkov, and even then that's just a different game entirely as well.
