FFXV was an amazing game though. Tabata literally SAVED FF with real time action combat.

It saved it because every iteration in the main series since FF X has been complete shit, barring the MMO's. That's a reason.

I like Chie more, but overall I found the girls in Persona 4 to be lacking when compared to 3 and 5.

And nah, FF 12 had a meh story, a meh character cast minus Gideon Emery and his bunny companion, and was literally Star Wars. The combat was also a shallow MMO version.

You got me there in terms of overall female cast in 4, which is why I prefer Yukiko simply cause I feel she's the best out of a bad bunch. She'll never top Aegis though.

FFXII only had two bad characters, that being Vaan and Penelo, even then Vaan is necessary for certain integral parts of the story. Also I never understood the >Offline MMO meme being a bad thing. The worst parts of XI and XIV are the other players.

I remember my friend once got me to play persona 4 on his PS3 once.

I can honestly say that after two hours of playing I was just confused and didn't really understand any of what was going on. Not in the "I jumped into a game not having played its predecessors" sense but in the "what the fuck is happening what does any of this mean do i really exist" sense.

Because you're taking mechanics that are better suited for combat with many different people instead of just focused on one player, which could have made it be way more interesting.

And the worst part about FF 14 (idk about 11, never played it), is the boring end game content where it gets repetitive very fast. People are what make it tolerable.

Persona is a very daunting game to just jump into. I felt lost in Persona 3 for a while honestly since you're given the decision what to really do, and you don't know if you're spending that time correctly or efficiently.

I'm back. First I apologize for the post before, I was stressed over this HW stuff I had to do. But as for your post, I would argue MMO stuff involves some basic human interaction. Not so much Dark Souls since all you're doing is emote spamming someone anyway. But MMO's have chats, clans, emotes, co-op, etc.

I'm sure MMOs are a lot more fun if you actually have a circle of friends to enjoy it and play co-op with, but some people just prefer to fly solo for a variety of reasons. Maybe your friends aren't as invested as you are, or maybe you're not as invested as your friends.

If you're that person, you're pretty much alone, so every little annoying thing that some random idiot does tends to get amplified, because you don't have anyone else to dispel the atmosphere--whether it's spamming a chat, having cyber-sex in a public lobby, getting harassed by stronger players, getting harassed in general, or whatever else--it's just a really headache-inducing environment which would be quelled if you simply had the option to play offline.

That, and online fees suck. They just suck.

Most games are more fun if you have a group of friends to play it with. I know what it's like to fly solo. I do a lot of times in a lot of games. It's why I don't voice chat ever with my friends when I'm playing something story heavy. As for things like the cyber sex public lobby, I don't see that happen in FF 14 at all, and you can report people if they do.

And generally in any MP game, you're gonna run into that harassment. I run into it more on Battlefield than I do with MMO's. Thankfully you can mute the chat.

Overall though, it's not a headache fest at all, really. Most MMO's I've played aren't like that at all.

And yeah online fee's do suck, but I think it is justified in FF 14 since it's like the most frequently updated MMO on the market.

apart from the translations appending honorifics to people's names, which doesn't make any sense in an english context, apparently there's moments where characters say stuff like, "i don't want to learn english, when am i ever going to use it"

like, i get that the game takes place in japan, but
