I mean, sure, I haven't finished the game, but this guy made me send home Nick Valentine - who had been following me ever since I met him - as soon as he offered himself to be my companion. I don't remember his name, but he's the guy that

vouches for you when you first enter the Railroad. This guy, is my man.

At one point he gives me the reset code for his software, in case something goes south. He inspired me even more to support the Synths, and to either convince, or take down the Brotherhood of Steel.

I don't think you understand the importance of this character. This is the guy that vouches for you when his m8s are pointing miniguns at you; the synth who gives you the ability to wipe his memory; the person who likes whenever you pick locks and hack stuff, and dislikes it when you take drugs.

I'd be alright with marrying him if I knew how to.

Assuming you've played through the campaign, I'm talking about the guy that changes his face when he goes outside. He's a synth.

Not as far as I know, valentine is clearly a synth and danse isn't fond of them.

For me it was danse that sent valentine back off to his office, hence the confusion.

I've yet to meet the fellow you are referring to though, so no worries.
