Zonda, go back and play Most Wanted after this. That's what I did and it's crazy how much different the cars feel from Underground 2.

um I think that’s Underground 1

If I remember right, the Acura RSX when tuned correctly is the fastest car in Underground 2. It can get up to 240mph.

I love how ridiculously fast the cars are in Underground/2. The Skyline with only stage 2 can top out at 350 km/h (217 mph). Games don’t over exaggerate power like they used to anymore

I'm not sure about just top speed, but the Miata is definitely the best overall. Trust me, just max one out sometime and see how easy it is to handle compared to practically everything else. Because your opponent's top speed is tied to your own, using a maxed out Miata is like playing on easy mode.

As an 8-10 year old, the concept of using stage 1-2 upgrades instead of standalone stage 3 was lost on me. The car’s handling and top speed is hideously, unrealistically good, especially now that I know the optimal way to upgrade performance. I’d never expect a 400hp Skyline IRL to get even close to 350 km/h like you can in U2. Even with Nos it seems pretty far fetched.

I love this game so much. Stage 5 drag races are so much easier and more fun. It’s also a cakewalk to achieve the target Star rating compared to advancing from 3/4.

Also Aether you’re definitely thinking of Underground 1. U2 the RX-7, Pontiac GTO and Skyline R34 have the best all round stats when fully upgraded.

The Mustang GT has the highest top speed btw.

I fully upgraded the Supra and it still handles like a sloppy dick. I lose outruns that my RX-7 (not fully upgraded) would easily win and to top it all off, it and the skyline go from sounding good stock to making the noise you’d expect from a lawn mower with a fully upgraded engine. Why.

Nah man, I played through NFSU2 last year and a maxed out Miata just felt superior to every other car. The handling is just too good for how high its top speed and acceleration are. Because of how the map is in the game, with very few real straight-ways, and because your opponents speed is based on your own car's, using a maxed out Miata makes the game significantly easier. At least it certainly feels that way to me.

If I remember correctly, it was the only car I was able to get all three, handling, acceleration, and top-speed bars completely filled.

for the record, it has to be maxed out, though. Only then did it actually feel superior gameplay-wise.

Some of the stipulations for unlocks are so shitty. I feel like I’ve won 30,000 outruns and still no widebody. Done them all in the same car too

Okay this is legit bullshit. At least I’ve found a way to cheese that shit to avoid getting rubber banded or have a van swerve in front of me but still. I’ll sit down tomorrow and do 15 outruns in a row before I give up on this grind altogether.

there’s a myth that it’s 11 but most people call bullshit on it and say 15.

Personally I think you have to buy the season pass first.

Let me guess. You have to complete the outruns in Stage 5 itself and if you complete the game first, you can’t unlock the body kits because it registers it as stage 6.

Fuck this game and its dream crushing bullshit. I’ve legit won 20+ outruns in the same car and nothing.

nah it looks like you do it in stage 5 for career mode. Once you beat Caleb you unlock them for Custom mode tho
