Antivirus' game mode?

Does your PC's / laptop's antivirus have a game mode (also known as gamer's or gaming mode), meaning a mode in which it suspends security alerts and system scans while you work or play, but since it's real-time protection, is remains active to not compromise your security?

Do you turn it on every time you play games?

Actually, now that you mention it, I haven't even got 3rd party AV, let alone a "gaming mode".

MSE, or whatever Windows 8 has for it should handle it though just fine.

no clue. i just let mse do its thing in the background, and clean up anything it misses with mbam.

I just checked, apparently it does. I never use it, though, and it hasn't caused me any trouble.

Windows 8.1 has MSE+ preincluded, so yeah.

I just use MSE and MBAM. Running Active Scans and active protection is for plebeians who don't know how to use computers.
