but presumably Huey never really told anyone (including his son) after MGSV and since no one but Diamond Dogs and XOF know about it's existence, no one ever thought about that sort of design.

Without Huey, the TX-55 was probably just a barebones model with the best they could do in MG1

1) DD keeps it classified.

2) It was expensive as hell and incredibly inefficient.

3) REX only had a weakness because of "muh character" from Otacon. It was a much more solid design than Sally. The MP RAYs were weaker because of their mass-production, and they were never intended to be threats individually. The prototype REX was much more powerful.

at the end of 31 he says "you will be my eyes now" to the soldiers (something along those lines anyways), he has milky eyes, in one cutscene (where quiet jumps over a rail and into an area where there's a ton of gas, one of the kids left a necklace down there or some shit) he was hitting the said necklace on the ground with his "cane"

I figured he was when Snake found him with his eyes clawed up, but he does move as though he can see.
