So I have a question, now that I know of the plot, who is the one that actually rescues Sniper Wolf when she was child and took Gray Fox and Naomi to the US? Was it the real Big Boss or Venom Snake? Because they were both active in the mid-80s. This confused me because Venom Snake was there so that Big Boss could plan and do stuff behind the scenes while this "phantom" took on the spotlight, but then Big Boss was involved in the Mozambican Civil War were he met Frank Jaeger (again) and Naomi, and also rescued Sniper Wolf.

So who did it? And doesn't Big Boss's involvement in those conflicts negate his going underground plans he had?
