Up until TPP, we were told that Big Boss was fighting against Zero. then TPP says that Zero fell into a coma in the late 70s (was previously the 90s) and still considered Big Boss his friend, and (to my knowlege) vice versa.

I think you guys are reading too much into that. He sees Naked Snake like Naked Snake saw The Boss. He idolizes him and worships everything he did (Eva says as much in MGS4). Same with Big Boss until the very ending of Peace Walker and her decision (which was stupid to me. But I guess that's where we see him go "bad").

If The Boss was a male as well, people would be saying the same thing.

And since it's already been brought up in the last few posts that his relationship mirrors the Naked Snake/Boss one, his feelings most definitely go beyond brotherhood, camaraderie, or even love.

It's never said that he actually lusts after Big Boss or some shit, it's just a shorter and funnier way of saying that Ocelot really fucking loves this Big Boss guy.

It's made clear through his Gaussian image of Snake at the waterfall (commonly used in '60s romance movies), as well as Volgin's 'fallen for him, have you?' comment that he doesn't deny (after he expressed disgust at Eva's oversexed outfit and manner, rather than allurement), his eating of Snake's food because he thought it'd make them similar, and Eva's comment about his obsession with Snake (but Snake doesn't have a clue what she's talking about).

And not only that, but deeper feelings of love is still love.
