I'd assume so, going by the Outer Heaven logo you can see reflected in the glass and the "Operation Intrude N313" written on the back of the tape.

"Just another day in war without end - OUTER HEAVEN."

Which is where Ahab listen's to Ishmael's tape.

The way I see it, this was Ishmael's way of threatening Ahab. "Hi, this is the real Big Boss. You may be confused so allow me to explain. You're actually a medic who was given mental manipulation and plastic surgery to look and act like me. This was so I could start my own nation of soldiers, which is far different from your Diamond Dogs mercenary group. If you don't fuck off with this Outer Heaven Uprising bullshit, I'm going to stop you."

Hence the "Operation N313" on the back of the tape.

I think everyone agrees that MGS4 effectively ruined most of the series. Or at least realise that it was a shit story.

Anyone else feel the Metal Gear story as a whole fell apart ever since Kojima had to explain everything in 4? As in, it wasn't as good?

No, not at all. Peace Walker is the second best game in the series, IMO. Even if only from a story perspective.

I honestly have no good explanation to what happened in TPP. Like... there were so many missed opportunities.

Eli: Wasted character. The game ruins the intirgue from the get-go. There's a mission where you have to capture the "White Mamba", leader of the child soldiers. You're left thinking "shit... Eli?" Then the game's like "lol he's white in case you didn't notice." After you finally meet up with him, you don't really have any interaction with him save a few awkward silent stares.

A few missions later, Kaz contacts you "Boss... I think Eli is your son."

Whaatt... why reveal it like that? Wasted opportuninity.

Also, BB/Eli had no interaction. I was hoping to see why Eli hated Big Boss so much in MGS1 "He always told me I was the inferior clone." No... he didn't.

Other gripes: We didn't see the rescue of Naomi, or the saving of Sniper Wolf. Saladin never became Saladin. Gray Fox wasn't even IN the game, even though the timeframe was perfect.

Kojima had too much on his plate canon wise to just throw all in one game, and those he did felt so... bad. I like to think that it's because his Konami fiasco caused him to ruin some things.

But at the same time, he was without his co-writer as well.

I think it has more to do with this whole Konami shit. You hear about this more and more, that publishers keep fucking with development. I feel like this game was meant to come out a year before now.

Why thank you sir although it fucked up at the end when my stealth camo prototype ran out lol. I'm gonna try more shit like that when I go up 2 more combat unit levels and unlock the real stealth camo.

Also I only just realized that you can fill in the colours of emblems and not just the outline. I made the ultimate emblem

Invaded a guy's base, made it to the top of the tower and got seen by a guard. I just sat up there until the alert ended and went into the core. The guy didn't even show up to defend it haha

There was a guy invading my FOB, he was running upstairs, I hit him with a Grenade Launcher, as he was getting up I CQC'd him, knocked him out, picked him up and threw him off the side. I'll upload the video tomorrow.

Man, I need to do FOB stuff more, it's pretty fun.

The servers are still fucky for me so I haven't got to do as many FOB missions as I'd like.

I have the hero status which means I can get rid of nukes if I want, though.

the idea is that you get high level soldiers to defend your base

your security team has gotta be good

so that when youre afk they can defend it for you

it's pretty cool actually. you can control their patrol patterns, weaponry etc.

Yeah IMO the gameplay is terrific. TPP feels like GOTY material just for that, even if the story is... lacking.

I'm mostly lost but I get the gist of 'getting revenge on Cipher.' I can't decide on a color for Mother Base, though. Orange is nice but a bit grating at the same time... but nothing else really has that sort of warmth to it.

I got another clip on the way. My game is so eventful.

You guys are haters. MGS4 didn't have a terrible story. I can't really say if I think it has a better story than TPP, or if I just think that, because it has more story.

Also. Went to Paz today. Saw that flashback. So, the Medic and Big Boss were there, but, it showed the Medic looking like Big Boss. And it appeared he was talking to Paz by the door when she was on the table. Can someone explain? Also, no spoilers please, big ones, but where's this mission where you have to kill your men? Haven't found that yet. Did a mission where I went and got Code Talkers stuff today. And rescued some of the kids that escaped. Also, saw the scene where Quiet talked.

Yes. The series was much better when it was you up against genuinely supernatural threats.

At least psychics and ghosts (and apparently demons) are still real in the series. I assume that's only because Kojima couldn't think of a way to incorporate nanomachines into whatever explanation he dreamed up, though.
