It has enough Kojima in it to be considered decent, I suppose.

I go back and forth.

But even if it was shit, one or two bad eggs doesn't make the statement any better, to be honest.

Saying "It's the best of the series" would be a lot better than "it's one of the best" because it so undefinitive.

Anyway, watchs Mat's review of MGS 4, and yeah. The more I watched it, the more shitty I realized it was.

I think Kojima really cared more than anything, to just simply end it, regardless of the casualties.

I still don't understand his motivations for Johnny though. I guess since he had to kill off Snake one way, he wanted to give Meryl a happy ending, so he kinda forced that.

In fairness, I'd be going through the motions too if I had to work on the same series for two decades. He never intended to go past the first Solid, so he was basically making it up as he went when all he wanted to do was move on to something else.

I remember reading somewhere that he planned to make it months after SoL, with Otacon and Snake being blamed for the fall of the western economy or something and being executed as a result.

Hence, the "Here's to You", a song about people who were wrongly accused of a crime and were killed for it, playing in the game's soundtrack. Which kind of reveals something about The Phantom Pain as well, now that I think about it...

Anyways, I think that would have made for a far more entertaining game.

If you're interested, look up JermTheWerm's MGS4 "review" as well. His is a lot less professional and entertaining but he highlights some of my problems with the game as well.

It's also far shorter so don't worry about time constraint.

I suppose. But I mean... I think it has to do more with the character of Solid Snake being hard to write for. Because the games surrounding MGS4, Snake Eater and Peace Walker, are both in the top 3 best games in the series, IMO.

And POW's you've rescued as well, but I'm not entirely sure how that works considering it's 9 years later and MB was destroyed, presumably along with those rescued prisoners.

I'm tryna beat it, MGS1 and Revengeance all before Tuesday but I'll likely only get MGS1 and Revengeance done in time

Like, I can excuse PSP graphics. But it's a MGS game and the frames are around 24 or something. That is something I CANNOT excuse. It is just simply not enjoyable in the end.

I just finished watching his Legend of Zelda reviews (a game series I've never played) and I'm contemplating buying a Wii-U to play all the older games, especially Wind Waker.

He's really good. I wish he was more active.

If you're gonna play Zelda games, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess are must plays. For 3D anyway.

2D is A Link to the Past (that's on gameboy/nintendo, you could pirate it), and another I'm forgetting.

You'd do better playing OoT first though before Wind Waker since they play hand in hand with a story sense.


Edit: People will say play Majora's Mask, but ehhh, not the biggest fan here. And they don't connect like those first 3 I told you.
