I've been playing this game for 38 hours straight and I'm not stopping until I'm 100% done.

I've been hibernating this summer so I'm good to go for days without sleep.

I'm a few missions off the ending so I don't want to read through this thread just yet, but I should be done by tomorrow-ish. Depends on how many fucking Combat Deployment wait times I have to sit through /:



Anyways, my thoughts on the game now that I'm nearly done it:

the gameplay is flawless but I'm disappointed with the story. Sometimes it's the best thing I've ever seen and other times I feel like it could've been more/was a wasted opportunity.

You'll see what I mean once I write my review.

No spoilers. I'm on Episode 14 lol. I did kinda see the ending, well, read. Though I didn't understand it. What I'm saying is. When you finish the game, you get the ending, but supposedly to get the "true" ending you have to replay the game. Called Chapter 2.

I do like the Peace Walker theme. I really do. But having it play EVERY time gets REALLY old...

I just wouldn't do it for the same reasons that I wouldn't marathon an entire TV show or read an entire novel in one day. You're not letting your brain take in everything, and unless you take notes during play (which no one does, even though they SHOULD), eventually, you're going to overload, and forget a great deal of what you experienced.

That's how it is for me, anyway. When I pull all-nighters, I can't remember a fucking thing that I did, which is why I typically try to avoid all-nighters when gaming.

I mean, games are kinda meant to be played only a couple hours per day anyway. I find that's not only important for health reasons, but also in terms of maximum enjoyment. It allows you to absorb everything little by little, savoring all the little nuances. Instead of just eating the entire cake in one bite.

I understand being hype and wanting to play as much of it as possible, but I dunno.

I also resent that mentality because, even when I was a kid, I still preferred to take it slow, just to make the most out of the experience. None of my friends were like that. They'd have new games beat in less than a week, which would piss me off, because not only do I know for a FACT that they missed out on some shit, I can't even discuss the game with them because I'm still meandering in level fucking 3 or whatever.

I intend on going back and taking it nice and slow of my next playthrough, though.
