there's nothing wrong with the character creator, some of the preset faces on multiplayer kits are relatively okay

No idea why? It couldn't possibly be the reason they added in hip modern hair styles, bright neon hair colors, a myriad of face drawing they call makeup, communist style multiplayer rewards, or a shoehorned failed-candidates slogan that Tumblr millennials seem to love so much. No, no idea why

I never cared about ME3's multiplayer. It was alright, but not really my thing.

The dev team is one basically made of interns, tumblr/ SJW-types, diversity hiring and off-the-street programmers who've never shipped a game before - all the talent is either on other projects/ teams or left the studio.

Plus, the past couple BioWare games have been known for including gay/ trans characters who serve no real plot purpose other than to be gay/ trans, and that's the extent of the character's depth.

So I can't say I'm surprised when I hear that they purposely made the people look stupid to stop having characters like Miranda or ME3 Ashley, though I'm not sure how true it is. I wouldn't be surprised if it's equal parts that and equal parts genuine incompetence.

So I've played a few hours of the single player now. This game is both really enjoyable and frustrating. It's enjoyable because it really does feel like a new mass effect game and the actual gameplay of it is great. But it's frustrating at the same time because it feels like it's being held back by incompetent people from other parts of the dev team.

If i had to do a break down it would be something like this.

Writing: Meh
Environment artists: A+
Gameplay: Great job
UI: You guys need to go back to school because jesus christ this is thing is a mess
Alien art and animation teams: You guys did pretty good. I like what I've seen so far.
Music: I get you guys were going for an ME 1 vibe, but i really don't dig the music from ME 1

You kidding me? Turians look like they got the 343i Elite treatment and that Salarian's facial movements look like they were made by an amateur in GMod or MS Paint. Compare how dead his face is to how expressive Mordin was in ME2

mordin was unusually expressive for a salarian, the rest of the salarians in ME1-3 were pretty much on par with andromeda. Turians pretty much look the same as they ever did.

if you actually played the preview you'd know about a specific scene with the kett commander that's extremely well done too. it successfully conveys a feeling of confusion when it's trying to mimic the actions of daddio and has no idea what the fuck it is these new aliens did to activate the relic on habitat 7.

Looks like I'll be wearing a helmet the whole time. The game itself looks great. Faces and animations not so much. I heard during cutscenes the animations and lip syncing are fine, but in game like during conversations it looks off.

I've been playing the multiplayer for a couple of hours now and I have to say, the gameplay is absolutely on point. They improved on just about everything. No more clunky me3 controls and the verticality offers a lot of new experiences, but it still feels like a mass effect game. Gameplay is faster and more aggressive.

I'll certainly be picking this up just for the mp, who gives a fuck about the campaign. Free multiplayer DLC is a bonus too.
